Microneedling

 

Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that involves pricking the skin with tiny sterilized needles. The small wounds cause your body to make more collagen and elastin, which heal your skin and help you look younger.

Results can take 4-6 weeks to be fully visible, As soon as the deepest layers of your skin are penetrated by the needles, “micro-wounds” are created. This triggers your body's wound healing processes to heal your micro wounds immediately.

Microneedling treats textural issues dealing with pores, acne scars, wrinkles, tightening sagging skin, and more.

The treatment is done after a numbing agent is applied, to reduce any discomgort you may have, and is relatively painless. You may experience a feeling of "sunburn" and sensitivity for a few days while you're healing.

Aftercare

(for both treatments)

​

  • During the first 24 hours, do not wash your face or use any moisturizers or makeup.

  • Mineral makeup and sunscreen (SPF 50) may be applied the following day.

  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure for 2 weeks. If you are outdoors, sunscreen with SPF 30 should be worn every 2 hours.

  • No sauna, baths or swimming for 1 week.

  • No scrubs or exfoliators for 1 week.

  • No strenuous exercise for 1-2 days.

  • Do not use harsh soaps or scrubs or heavy skin care products on the face for 1 week.
